Tasks and Objectives

UNESCO Geoparks are regions with a special geological heritage. Their goal is to jointly develop this heritage in harmony with the local people and all their regional characteristics. They invite people to follow in the footsteps of the past and gain a better understanding of our planet Earth and the interrelationships between humans and (inanimate) nature – with sustainable tourism and cultural offerings, educational projects, careful valorization and strong networking.
